LEO NEW MOON RITUAL: SHINE YOUR LIGHT

Denita Tizard 22 July 2025

A ritual for courage, creation, and radiant new beginnings under the Leo New Moon.

New Moon in Leo

YOU WILL NEED

  • Incense or essential oil
  • A small jar or glass container (a lid is optional)
  • LED tealight or fairy lights
  • Paper and pens (gold, red, or orange are ideal)
  • Hot herbs or spices: cinnamon, clove, ginger, chili, or calendula
  • Gold glitter, sequins, or shimmer
  • Red or gold thread or string
  • Crystals: carnelian, sunstone, citrine, or rose quartz (optional)
  • A small symbol or talisman (charm, bead, sigil, etc.)
  • Scissors, glue, or tape (if needed)

STEP-BY-STEP RITUAL FLOW

Cleanse and Set the Space

Begin by burning your chosen incense or diffusing oil. Play music that uplifts or inspires you. Cleanse your space or group using smoke, mist, or simple intention.

Say aloud: “I clear this space with light and love. I call in joy, creativity, and courage. I honour the light within me. I am safe to shine, safe to create, safe to lead with heart.”

Leo New Moon Guided Meditation | Manifest Love, Joy & Confidence

This guided Leo New Moon Meditation invites you into a safe, radiant space to return to your heart and reawaken your inner light. Through quantum energy alignment, binaural theta sound healing, and heart-centered manifestation, you’ll clear ancestral heartache, regulate your nervous system, and connect with your soul’s boldest desires — from frequency, not force.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, dimmed, or disconnected from joy, this Leo New Moon offers a sacred moment to reset your energy and remember who you truly are. A divine being of love, worthy of receiving, ready to radiate.

Heart and Fire Activation

Place one hand on your heart and the other on your solar plexus. Close your eyes and take several deep breaths. Imagine golden light filling your body and igniting your inner flame.

Say aloud: “I call in the Lion within. May I roar when I need to be heard. May I walk with power, grace, and warmth. May I protect my joy and rule my life with love.”

INNER FIRE JAR: A LEO NEW MOON CREATION FOR YOUR ALTAR

This glowing jar will serve as a physical reminder of your strength, truth, and radiant potential. Place it on your altar to honour your inner light, bold heart, and creative fire.

Place Your Light Source

Turn on your LED tealight or fairy lights and place them inside your jar.

Say aloud: “This light is mine to tend. It cannot be taken. It cannot be dimmed. It shines because I say yes to my own fire.”

Draw Your Fire

On a small piece of paper, draw an image that represents your inner flame. This could be a spiral, a sunburst, or any golden or fiery shape that feels right to you. Place it in the jar as a foundation for your light.

Write Bold Statements

On strips of paper, write the following:

  1. What makes you feel most alive
  2. Bold affirmations (for example: “I am a radiant force of love. I am seen. I am honoured. I am powerful. I am meant to shine.”)
  3. What you are ready to claim or create

Roll or fold the papers and place them inside your jar.

Add Herbs and Magic

Sprinkle in your chosen herbs and spices. These fiery ingredients represent energy, action, protection, and passion. Add gold glitter, sequins, or shimmer to symbolise the brilliance of your light.

Add Your Symbols

Place a small object that represents your courage or creativity into the jar. This could be a charm, crystal, sigil, bead, or any meaningful token.

Optional: Tie a red or gold thread around the neck of the jar and decorate.

Affirm the Magic

Hold the glowing jar close to your heart.

Say aloud: “I bless this jar as a vessel of fire of truth, joy, and radiant becoming. May my light shine boldly, my dreams root deeply, and my magic rise with the Leo Moon.

ONGOING USE

Place your Inner Fire Jar on your altar or in a visible space. Let it glow when: You are creating or beginning something new. You need a boost of confidence or courage. You feel disconnected from your purpose or passion. You wish to reconnect with your voice, vision, or joy. You can add new statements, symbols, or drawings to the jar any time your fire needs tending.

LEO RADIANCE CARD SPREAD

Use your tarot or oracle deck to pull cards in response to the following questions:

  1. What power is ready to rise within me?
  2. Where have I been dimming my light?
  3. What bold step is calling me?
  4. What will help me stay true to my heart?
  5. A message from my inner lion

CLOSE THE RITUAL

Hold your glowing jar one final time. Feel gratitude for your fire, your joy, and your willingness to shine.

Say aloud: “With this Leo moon, I plant the seeds of radiant becoming. I trust in my brilliance. I follow the fire of my joy. So it is.”

Close with a powerful Lion’s Breath and a joyful “Roar!” to seal the ritual.

Review: Big Intentions Card Deck

Review: Big Intentions Card Deck – Guidance for Embodied Purposeful Living by Erin Lee & Keturah Tracy.

Big Intentions

“May you be all that you intend.”

This simple invocation sets the tone for this beautiful and heartfelt deck, which invites you into a deeper relationship with your body, breath, mind, heart, and soul.

When we choose to live with intention, we move through life with greater purpose and meaning. This deck supports that shift, helping you tune into your inner landscape in a way that feels both grounded and expansive. There are beautiful quotes scattered throughout — one I especially loved was, “Inspired = in-spirit.” That really captures the energy of this offering.

The cards are stunning — rich with gold detailing (which is tricky to photograph but absolutely luminous in person). Keturah Tracey's divine illustrations bring softness and presence to each yoga pose, while the companion book offers guidance that is compassionate and non-harmful. One of the most freeing reminders is that the poses are not about perfection or looking a certain way. They’re invitations to presence. You’re encouraged not to compare yourself to others (like we often do in class), but to move gently, honouring your own body and whatever it’s carrying.

What really sets this deck apart is how it’s not just about yoga — it’s about living on purpose. The intentions are what stay with you. Pulling a card each morning helped guide how I moved through my day — it became a quiet little anchor. If you wanted to, you could even just work with one card per week, letting it slowly integrate through breath, thought, movement, and life.

Even though I haven’t practiced yoga in a long time, this deck reminded me how much I love it — and why. Opening me up to something deeper than the movement itself. It became a journey into intention. For me, that’s where the magic happened.

I especially connected with the Surrender, Balance, and Truth cards — though truly, they all carry their own kind of medicine. This deck holds a lovely, gentle energy. I’m actually a little sad to be finishing my time working with it... I might just keep it on my table a little longer. It feels like a wise, supportive presence in my space.

I recommend this to anyone craving more presence, softness, and clarity in their life.

Card of the Day is Truth.

TRUTH from the Big Intentions Card Deck by Erin Lee and Tracey Keturah.

Truth

Tadasana MOUNTAIN POSE

When we are searching for Truth, what we’re really doing is journeying beyond the limits of our human experience.

Truth lives in your eternal soul.

However, along the human journey, we can mistake Truth for opinions, preferences, perspectives and judgements.

We can also fall into the trap of trying to think our way to the Truth, by weighing up the pros and cons of a situation.

Sometimes our emotions try to hijack us, and have us believe that they are the Truth.

Truth doesn’t live out there – somewhere outside of us. Nor does it live in some kind of temporary experience, like a thought or emotion.

Truth lives in your ever-lasting soul, waiting to be unveiled and realised.

Mountain Pose asks you to stand tall in your own Truth, keeping your heart open with an understanding that temporary conditions will pass.

This is an invitation for you to awaken Truth in your body.

From a standing position, bring your big toes together, and slightly separate the heels.

Keep a microbend in your knees, and imagine roots branching from your feet, down into the core of the Earth.

Extend your arms long by your sides. With the palms facing forward, reach out through all your fingers.

Rotate the thighs in toward one another, then broaden across the front of the pelvis.

Activate the core by engaging the pelvic floor, and drawing the front ribs in toward one another.

Breathe in as you lengthen through your side waists.

Breathe out to relax your shoulders, drawing the chin in toward your throat. Feel the crown of your head rise up toward the sky, resembling the peak of a mountain.

Close your eyes or keep the gaze soft, as you allow the breeze of your breath to journey through your inner landscape.

Your truth is an expression of your soul, otherwise referred to as your true nature. Invite Truth in

Card of the Day is Balance.

BALANCE from the Big Intentions Card Deck by Erin Lee and Tracey Keturah.

Balance

The natural world continually ebbs and flows, creates and destroys, rises and falls, expands and contracts — it’s forever seeking equilibrium.

You are a part of nature too.

As an Earth-ling, you are automatically alchemising as you navigate your way through life, finding Balance.

Sometimes, the greatest lessons in Balance come through the hard knocks that send us flying afar …

Small knocks endured over a long period of time, can also leave us feeling misaligned.

What can we do when we’re feeling like this?

There’s no better guru to turn to than Mother Nature.

Notice how she deals with a tree that falls in the forest …

There might be a temporary shock, but watch how new growth emerges in the space created from the change.

See how it takes time and appropriate conditions for plants to grow, flowers to blossom and coral reefs to spawn.

Embodying Balance - Visksasana, Tree Pose.

In the same way that a tree stands firm but remains flexible in changing weather, Tree Pose asks that we deepen our connection to Earth while remaining flexible to manage the sway and swaggers of life.

This is an invitation for you to restore balance in your body. From standing position, gaze at a focal point ahead.

Press one foot into the ground, keeping a micro-bend through the knee and activating the glutes. Gradually lift the other foot away from the ground, placing the sole against the inside of the calf or thigh of the standing leg. Angle the bent knee to the side.

Root down through the standing foot as you raise your arms up towards the sky to resemble the long and flexible branches of a tree.

Set your fingers in GYAN mudra to promote focus and wisdom. Connect your thumbs with your forefingers and extend the last three fingers long.

As you breathe in, broaden across your heart space, relaxing your shoulders away from your ears. Breathe out and point the base of your spine down towards the Earth, keeping your pelvis neutral.

Lift the crown of your head high towards the vast sky above. Matching this effort with your deep connection to the Earth beneath you.

Invite balance in.

Card of the Day is Grace

Denita Tizard 18 July 2025

Grace from the Big Intentions Card Deck by Erin Lee and Tracey Keturah.

Grace

Natarajasana - DANCER’S POSE

In Yoga Sutra 2.46, Patanjali refers to sthira sukham asanam, which translates to a ‘stable and comfortable posture’.

To achieve this in a yoga pose we must take steady action – consistent effort over time without unnecessary tension.

This is how Grace works in everyday life.

Grace lives in the space that exists between effort and effortlessness.

Grace is the divine space in and between all things.

It’s the music that happens in-between the notes

...the pause between impulse and response.

Grace is born in the balance of

action and non-action,

effort and ease.

Whatever position you find yourself in,

make sure there is space to allow the God energy of Grace

to move through you.

When we bring the stillness of our being into what we are doing,

we tap into the miraculous flow of Grace.

To achieve balance in Dancer’s Pose, take each step forward with steadiness and ease. Discover the Grace that lives in the space between effort and ease.

This is an invitation for you to notice Grace in your body.

From a standing position, gaze gently at a single focal point ahead.

Press the whole of your right foot firmly into the ground. Keep a microbend through the knee of that same leg, and activate the glutes.

Begin to lift your left foot away from the ground, sending the heel toward your bottom. Catch the foot with your left hand and cup the inner arch with your fingers.

Level both hips evenly. Broaden the tips of the collarbone.

Lift through the crown of your head, and reach the right arm out ahead of you with your hand in Gyan Mudra to promote focus and wisdom as you prepare to expand – connect your thumb with your forefinger and extend the last three fingers long.

Breathe in and begin pushing the left foot into your left hand. Breathe out to lean forward gradually, to your extent of this pose in this moment.

Make sure you can still breathe.

Invite Grace in.

Card of the Day is Surrender.

Denita Tizard 17 July 2025

Surrender from the Big Intentions Card Deck by Erin Lee and Tracey Keturah.

Surrender

Balasana — Child’s Pose

Surrender is a conscious decision to soften resistance. It asks us to loosen our grip on the things we try to control — outcomes, identities, expectations. When we surrender, we allow life to move through us, rather than wrestle with it.

Try this: clench your fists as tightly as you can. Notice the tension, the effort. Now, slowly release. Feel the space return. This is what it means to surrender — to let go of the fight and return to ease.

We can only hold on for so long before it causes harm. Exhaustion, resentment, tension — these are signs we’ve gripped too tightly. Surrender isn’t defeat. It’s choosing trust over struggle. It’s remembering that a greater intelligence is always holding us.

Balasana, Child’s Pose, invites you into this softness. Forehead to earth, arms extended or by your sides, heart gently folding — it’s a physical prayer of letting go.

A prayer:

Dear Universe, I release my resistance.
Guide me from here.
I trust that your intelligence holds my highest path.
Let me rest now, and be held by life itself.

Loosen your grip. Breathe.

Notice how everything starts to realign — not through force, but through your willingness to soften.
